Monday 12th March
Our book at the moment is The Tin Forest so we would like to create our own tin forest using tubes and lots of silver paint! If you have any tubes from kitchen rolls, toilet rolls, wrapping paper, we would love to have them in school! Old tin foil trays and unwanted CDS would also be really useful. Thank you!
Happy New Year!
I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year! Thank you for all the lovely cards and presents. I have been enjoying all the chocolates, sweets, biscuits and homemade treats over Christmas! I am saving the toiletries and candles for the move to my new house where I can enjoy them fully. I am looking forward to seeing you all again for the Spring term.
Yesterday we had a fantastic trip to see Aladdin! The children were very excited to be part of the audience and joined in enthusiastically with all the audience particpation. It was a brilliant production with plenty of jokes, special effects, catchy songs and funny characters to enjoy. Do enjoy some of the photos below from the day.
Well, we are almost at the end of our first half term in Y1 and the children have been really busy working on our Terrific Toy Tales topic. You can see our Y1 Topic Flyer further down this page and a copy will also be available at Parents' evening on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
We had a fantastic Outdoor Classroom day last week and you can enjoy some of the photos from the day below. We created Hoctopizes in the woods with clay! These were based on the alien in our story, Toys in Space, and the children loved creating their own aliens using natural materials.
Thank you for all your support with learning at home. Reading and spelling are key parts of Y1 and it makes a huge difference to progress and confidence when children read and enjoy books at home as well as in school.
Have a lovely half term break and we look forward to seeing you back refreshed and rested!
