Early years before & after school setting
The Nursery setting is home to the before and after school provision for children in our Nursery and Reception classes. This enables us to care for all of the EYFS children in a separate setting which is specifically designed to cater for their needs. Qualified Early Years staff plan and deliver the learning and care that takes place and the staff:child ratios are maintained at 1:8 or higher at all times.
Before School Sessions
Children can be dropped off any time from 7.45.a.m. onwards. A light breakfast is provided for those children who choose to take it. There are plenty of resources available for the children to play with until it is time for Nursery/school. At the start of the school day, the Reception children are walked to their classroom by a member of staff.
After School Sessions
Children in Reception are collected from their classes at the end of the school day and walked to the setting by a member of staff. A drink and snack is offered to the children at the start of each afternoon session, snacks are healthy and varied and always include a piece of fruit.
The children can choose to participate in one of the adult led activities that are available each day or they may choose to play independently or with friends from the vast range of free choice resources that are available to them. Children also have access to our wonderful Early Years outdoor area during each session.
Children can be booked in and collected any time up to 5p.m./5.30p.m./6p.m.
Places are allocated on a first come first served basis, however, please note that if your child is due to start in our Reception class, you must wait until you have had a confirmed offer of a place from the local authority before your child's name can be added to our waiting list.
