websites and resources

Below you will find links to websites and activity ideas to support phonics at home.

There are lots of useful websites to help with the teaching of phonics and where you can find out more information. Here is a small selection:

https://www.littlewandlelettersandsounds.org.uk/resources/for-parents/ this is a direct link to the Little Wandle website and the Parent page. It outlines what sounds are taught when in the year for both Reception and Year 1, there are useful resources and helpful videos.

www.ictgames.com/literacy.html a great selection of games that link well with games in Letters and Sounds.

http://www.letters-and-sounds.com/printable resources for each of the Letters and Sounds phonic phases, also links to games aligned with each phase. Although we now follow Little Wandle, which is the revised version of Letters and Sounds, this website still has useful resources linked to letter formation. It might also support your child if they are struggling with a particular digraph or trigraph. We would suggest using the Little Wandle progression grid alongside this website, so that you are able to see which phonemes apply to your child's learning and when,

If unsure, please ask your child’s class teacher as they will be able to guide you further in how to support your child.
