Leasowes School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association

Together we care, together we share

The Leasowes School PTFA purpose is to provide fun events that are both fund raising and community spirited.

We are an integral part of the school community and raise funds for equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education experience and the school’s facilities.

Our PTFA is about much more than simply fundraising.  The PTFA exists to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal.  It is fun too - just ask any of the Committee members or PTFA helpers.

All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. All families are automatically members of the Leasowes PTFA when their child joins our school.

Our Fun Events!

We aim to provide fun events that are both fund raising and community spirited.

We have two main fundraising activities in the year, the Christmas Fayre and the Summer Fete. It takes many volunteers to make these events a success, and all are welcome!

Other events we host throughout the year include Key Stage 2 discos, Chocolate Bingo and a newly introduced Fish n Quiz (one for the grown-ups!).

We hope to see you there and thank you for your support and donations over the years. Donations from parents are extremely important and appreciated.  We welcome donations of time, money, items for sale, raffle prizes or offers of services and skills.

We currently have a shortfall in active supporters.  Volunteering can take as little or as much time as you want and can be fun! We really need and appreciate your support to continue to benefit all our children.

We welcome new ideas to bring community fun events as well as fundraising opportunities, so please contact us if you have an idea to share, or join us at one of the monthly PTFA committee meetings.

Can you spare an hour or two to;

  • Help at the Key Stage 2 discos?
  • Serve refreshments at the Chocolate Bingo or Year 6 concert?
  • Could you be one of the many volunteers needed to set up or manage a stall at one of our larger events?

If so please get in touch or drop us an email at

Role of the Committee

Our PTFA committee consists of three Officers: Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.  We also have between 12 ordinary committee members to make up the full committee.

The Committee meet on a monthly basis, with smaller working groups meeting as necessary when we are planning larger events. Not all members can make every meeting, and you don’t have to be on the committee to join one of our meetings! If you are interested, simply come along or get in touch.

PTFA Helpers

We have a growing list of PTFA volunteers who commit some of their time to helping the committee. Every little helps, so just one hour assisting at an event would be invaluable.

A list of current PTFA committee members can be found on the noticeboard in reception.  Updated lists are sent out each year after the AGM. If you are interested in joining the committee or being PTFA volunteer, please do not hesitate to talk to a member of the Committee.

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Our Annual General Meeting is held at the beginning of the academic year and provides an opportunity for all parents to come along and hear in more detail about the work of the PTFA, the events we have run, the funds we have raised and how the money has been spent.  It is also the occasion when we elect our new committee members.

Charitable status

We are a registered charity Charity Number 1092281, and abide by Charity Commission rules and regulations. A copy of the constitution can be provided on request.

Being a registered charity enables the PTFA to:-
