Welcome to Leasowes Primary

On behalf of all the Leasowes staff, Governors and Trustees, a warm welcome to you all.

At Leasowes we pride ourselves on creating rich and exciting learning experiences for all children. All learning is rooted in our school values, providing the foundations that we try to live by every day.  Combined with our school motto, ‘Together we Learn. Together we Grow’ we ensure that children become empowered learners, who flourish in a safe environment, preparing them to meet their future aspirations so that they will succeed in life.

At Leasowes we have a hard-working and dedicated team who have high expectations of the children. Through our inclusive curriculum, we encourage all children to continually challenge themselves, working together to make the greatest progress and academic achievement.  As a school we are ‘Rooted in Reading’, immersing children in rich and challenging texts.  We believe that children who ‘learn to read will read to learn’.  Our exciting curriculum builds knowledge and skills over time through an equitable approach and through rich and varied learning opportunities.

Here at Leasowes we pride ourselves on our commitment to character education and personal development and drive tolerance and acceptance of all, creating an environment where the children understand that mistakes are a learning opportunity. We are a Gold Rights Respecting School where children’s rights are promoted and realised which impacts four key areas – wellbeing, participation, relationships and self-esteem.  Coupled with this, we provide many opportunities, such as pupil leadership roles and Forest School, enabling children to become citizens of the future who are able to navigate the ever-changing landscape, thrive in society and develop a strong moral compass.

We work hard to build positive partnerships with parents as we believe this encourages the child to be the very best that they can be and helps to harness that life-long love of learning.

We hope that this website gives you an excellent insight into our school. If there is any further information that you might require, we would be delighted to help you.

We look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Kind regards

Mrs Bettany
Headteacher
